the headlight blows bulbs, been at 2 dealers and they say that there is nothing wrong. I have replaced 7 bulbs in 400 miles. I am not a racer, i bought the bike because i like the heratige and the thing is just stunning. I can only relate my experience, I took it to one dealer, explained the problem and when i got the bike back the work order said something like this
"customer states that the headlight blows out frequently"
tech writes..."it works"
no fix there, I drove it home 40 miles....by the time i got home it was out.
I was told that if you ride in too tall a gear, when you roll on the gas, it will cause it to blow from excessive vibration. Plausible, completely plausible. So on my way home from this, i road at no lower than 4000 to 4500 rpms...still blew.
My other problem is the mirrors...they keep losing adjustment...like every 1/3 mile, not a floppy mirror, just that it moves any time you are moving....they said that it normal and as good as they get...wtf?
Ducati says that they have no issues with bulbs blowing in these, but I have been in contact with them about it since it became an issue. To their credit, they are certainly concerned with solving my problems. the problem is that this has been in the shop 2 weeks or so, in my shed unridable from the light another week or so that they are running into lemon law territory(30 days oos and 3 failed attempts to fix).
It is real frustrating because I would be saving a tone of $ riding it to work instead of driving.... I figured that I would just trade it in at the dealer it's at now, they are not interested in taking it in on any bike...I offered it to them for a song, $3500 credit towards another bike on the floor (aprilia mille) and they said no...
