Default Ds1000

I don't know if they will keep the 800 or not. What I can tell you is I would spend the extra money to get the 1000. I bought mine in June.
I am 6'52, weigh 230, and am a begining to intermediate rider. I ride back and forth to work every day. The commute is 18 miles each way with 1/3 being freeway, 1/3 city, and 1/3 Gibraltar traffic.

1. The bike is fast enough for me. I have gone 200 kph and that is way too fast. I cruise between 130 and 160 kph on the freeway, daily. Very secure. Wind not bad.
2. Agile for lane splitting.
3. Great brakes. I do full throttle, full brakes whenever possible. On the slick roads here in Gibraltar I have locked the front wheel once when a dummy stepped in front of me. The bike is very mellow they way it loses traction and recovery is rapid and secure.
4. Good accelleration. Easy enough to get that light, airy, front end feeling in first and second.
5. Better in turns than I will ever be.

Every day I ride it I think of how great the bike is. The best word is 'spirited.'

After 3,000 kilometers there have been no mechanical issues.

It's a bike you love going to and from work. Your girlfriend loves it because it's comfy and has that Ducati vibration. And you love it even more because it grows on you--even without mods.

There are faster, more powerfull, bikes out there--some of which I have ridden. But in the real world (at least mone) the Spupersports perform up to the standard I ride at. What good is an extra 1/2 second on a quarter mile when the roads I ride on lose traction on the rear wheel at full throttle any way? What good are an extra 30 mph at the top end when that will land you in jail--or worse?

I paid top dollar for the bike and would do the same tomorrow.

Hope that helps. And have fun.
