Ok...you asked..
Lets see, this motor started as an 03 800, the chassis is from a euro '99 750ssie [brought back by a US serviceman in a container] I built the original "short stroke" motor, and it made a very reliable 89.9 at the rear wheel...but that's another story.
I stripped the motor and put in a [Ben Fox] balanced and lightened crank, lightened flywheel, 916 SPS primary gears, converted the bike to dry, slipper, clutch, pistal 13:1 pistons [which really net a measured 12.3:1 @ 1mm squish], carillo rods [compliments of Ben Fox] Down-draft heads by Doug @ ARC fabrication, 748 throttle bodies feeding it all. Undertail exhaust, again by Doug, febur oil cooler. I pretty much blueprinted everything as it went back together...you'd be surprised how "off" things can be from the factory. The chassis has had the complete rear chopped off and replaced with an aluminum subframe, I designed offset steering head bearings to decrease rake to 23 deg [lot of guys run my SS bearings, I designed them for the 848 too, see Mark @ Ducshop for them] I had 27mm offset triples [made a few sets of those for my best racing buddies] to get the trail back, but now I'm running modified 30mm lowers off a 748-996 superbike [with an old Cyclecat conversion upper] and it's not twitchy. Front Tin forks off a superbike, worked on by Rick @ Cogent Dynamics [a vendor here], and a rear Penske [also supplied by Rick] Rear swingarm off a 95 SP. Wheels are Carrozzeria forged [shite, think I bought those from Rick too?] Fuel tank is a carbon fiber superbike tank, saved from a buddy who was getting ready to cut it up
, modified to fit SS, bodywork is [very beat] Sharkskinz. Anyway, I'm old and race LtWt, so I just needed something to tinker with during the winters
Oh yeah, the frame color did not come out as planned...meant to be more Italian, less kawasaki, green...
