Not unusual for a manufacturer to not run a new model right away, esp. a ground up model like this. As someone else posted the 1st gen 1098 didn't run 1st yr either and I'm certain Ducati isn't the only company doing this. TBH I really don't believe Ducati need to run it to sell it. The dealers I know of have all sold out on pre-orders.
