I dont think you've contemplated millions upon millions of years of accumulated but slight changes Rob. If you've swallowed the 'four thousand year old earth' crap, well, how the hell could you ever contemplate hundreds of millions of years? I cannot imagine the insane chaos that religious people insert into scientific methodology...Oh wait, yes I can...sigh. The delusions, history is full of examples of the damage and delays caused by religious error, profit, interference and psychosis.
The biggest problem with silly substitutions and excuses for science is that it never stops! I mean, one isolated incident and maybe yeah, OK, we have an interesting phenomenon however, a practical, pathological guidebook to living is not covered in the bible or the Koran or.... Calling natural event's 'god's' work in one sentence, the devil's work in the next breath and man's work in the next text...
Once a man is allowed to profit from false witness, he perks up, he goes on and on to just about every subject and topic with the foolish conclusions that god is at the helm or he is doing the bidding of god....
Take all your Muslims, Buddhists, Christians, Hindus..whatever.... They all differ in claim, costume and action... The science remains the same....science explains faith but faith can never explain science....Science tells you the truth... if it doesnt, it aint science. With science, argument is possible. If you claim spirits and goblins are behind everything... the argument never ends and, never really begins..
In the same manner that a religious person dismisses accurate, peer reviewed science, he dismisses years of data, field reports, intense studies by 'boots on the ground'. He dismisses the math behind his situation. He has made up his mind to defer science to god so his challenge seems to be in making everything fit into what he reads as harmonious text but sees dilemma with his eyes or denying that which is painfully obvious. The more scientific knowledge we acquire, the more ridiculous religious denials become.
If god was private matter, we'd be OK! But no, religion is formed, 'organized' and 'managed'.. to death. Shameful disregard of nature, sacred sacrament and civic constitution. The breaching of the ancient, sacred code seems to be good practice for disobeying a current, democratic constitution's fundamental law and that, in turn, makes the breaking of natural law second nature...
Just like the 'excuses' for why thou shalt kill, there are 'enemies' that force them into 'thou shalt not offer habeas corpus'. His father, either a founding father or the 'holy father's spirit' has said NOT to do something... Well? Why TF are you doing the opposite of what is commanded? Were there a few typos we didnt quite catch in the proof read? Thou shalt not kill, 'before torturing first'?... Thou shalt invade foreign nations id holy oil is found?...
