modern DI two-strokes no longer emit the typical two-stroke smell, or any smoke either. They truly do allow you to have your cake and eat it too (not to mention burning less gas than comparably powered four-strokes; oil consumption is roughly equal to that used by a four-stroke, the difference being that it burns it whereas it gets changed (and typically burned in an incinerator) in the case of a four-stroke).
