Assuming you mean on a 916/996/998/748 chassis and you have an Ohlins shock that is sprung and valved correctly for the stock swingarm you might need a slightly stiffer spring and to set the damping to match if you just add alonger swing arm. If you also change to the "corse" style rocker you will definetley need a significantly stiffer spring and the shock revalved to match.

Either way you do not need a new shock.

Don't know about Canada but Peter Kates at PK suspension/Computrak Boston 508-876-9407 knows his stuff.
