Hey Darcati,
You look to have the 'only' DOS top triple clamp they ever made, dimensionally.
IIRC, guys that fitted them for the 748/916/996/996 bikes were told to make a gay spacer that would raise/extend the frame mount for the steering damper.
You'll see when your steering damper angle is just wrong with that triple clamp. I think you loose the steer lock as well, that may or may not be important to you.
It'll be obvious as you compare a 749/999 triple clamp to a 748/916/996/996 clamp, specifically at the steer tube/steering damper mount.
