Ruger has been really late getting on the AR paltform, and that's a nice weapon. I've got a couple of AR's. If you go that route, you can build it yourself and save some coin. Hardest part is finding all the parts, you may wait for a few months. I'm building a SBR and it took longer to get the lower parts kit that I wanted than it took ATF to process the form for the SBR. You can build a good AR if you shop around.
I'm not sold on the direct impingment ( vs gas), I can see it in combat, but if you run it clean and alittle wet they work fine, but I'm not defending the home land.
