Default HRC Hard Bite Pad Performance

I'm new to using the HRC pads and noticed on a ride the other day that after a couple hundred miles of break in they started getting real loud. Pretty much a grinding noise and feel. They were still strong as hell but the noise and feel concerned me. When I pulled over to check them out there was nothing out of the ordinary, the rotors were smokin hot of course but that's it. So I guess I'm asking the guys who have used these pads if this is normal operation/performance for them.
