Theres a lid for every pot. There are also many and I mean many out there that consider the asking price for that bike chump change. Now its just a matter of getting the word out to the right person and it will sell for that price. Just look at the ridiculous prices for auction cars at Barrett Jackson, of course most of the boomer bidders love to see themselves outbidding their peers in front of a TV audience.

Regardless of all the other factors, the 998R is a limited production and very rare bike. Obviously not the rarest of rare, but one of the most appealing machines Ducati has ever produced. It is the pinacle of that era and the 916 body style, but it also represents the new era too.

Eventhough the design inspiration Tamburini used was the shape of a woman, I believe the 998R is the most masculine looking Ducati ever built.

Its not so much the asking price as it is the difference between that and what the market will bear price. You are talking $5K or $6K difference, again loose change for many.

Good Luck with the sale. If I were one of the "many" that bike would have its own designated spot in my garage.
