Are you using an after market oil filter that's bigger then OEM?

With a quick look, Most oil I have recorded in my records after Oil and filter change is 4.5 to 4.7 qts.

Temp. with when you drained your oil has Nothing to do with, how much oil will show when you've finished your oil change

IF You really don't have any oil showing what so ever... YOU are safe to pour in .5 more qt. with NO problem.

I'm willing to bet that will bring it up too... LOL
