Husky SM610 = loctite stock holder?
Hello all,
Ive just bought a 2,200 mile 07 SM610. Paid $4500 for it. It came with the black bodywork and a spare set of new red/white. Also came with 2 oil filters and 2 gallons of motorex 10-60 oil. Has all the smog stuff removed and came with a HID headlight already installed and a rear fender rack from Husky. The only thing it needs are some new tires in about 500-1000 miles down the road.
Question: How much loctite does everyone go through with this bike? Ive ridden maybe 600 miles and Ive lost 4 fairing bolts, 2 airbox bolts and the oil return line from the frame to the back of the motor came loose spraying a fine oily mist on everything including the rear tire. I thought I mastered the art of backing it in to a corner but come to find out it was oil helping me!
I spent the better part of 2 afternoons torquing every fastener and bolt on the bike. Previous owner also had a shop manual on CD!
Is this the price I must pay to ride a totally insane single? Does the Husky naturally shake parts off of it? And should I stop buying loctite and just safety wire it like its a track bike?
Thanks for the input.
Ian
