I'm still baffled by the fact that you're legally allowed to ride a motorbike in parts of the US without wearing a helmet. I believe sunglasses are mandatory but no helmet. That is CRAZY shit!!!
I guess it's up to each and everyone to decide what to wear as long as you're not braking local laws but personally, like amullo, I'd never go for a ride without wearing full protective clothing.
Granted, Scandinavia isn't the warmest part of the world so it may be less uncomfortable wearing full gear in Sweden compared to Texas but then again you can always choose not to ride and take the car instead.
I bet you wish you did when you're lying in a hospital bed receiving morphine while a team of doctors prepare to transfer skin from the few remaining healthy portions of your body to cover the badly rashed ones...
