hello and comments greatly appreciated. bike is running super and front brakes, after bleeding/flushing with DOT4, are much improved. after reading how much they sucked and having maint records showing recent service, assumed they were at optimal performance but was mistaken.

haven't done much really, other than removing all the panels and cleaning/checking/etc. removed the black zip-ties and replaced w/semi-clear; found perfect paint matches to touch up a few stone chips on the panels and a tiny stain on the left engine case; added 2 nice Agip decals (one to cover a small stain on the frame); checked the charging system (perfect) and added a tender; sanded all electrical connections; installed a 60w superbright headlight; checked belts/tension and generally fussed over this gorgeous piece of art.

just ordered a nichols kickstand bolt, and a 39t or 40t rear will be ordered friday (gotta decide). put a +2 on the m750 monster i had, wasn't enuff. went to +3 and very happy. to slow the steering, will be raising the forks a tad this weekend. turn-in is too quick for me. had a sargent seat on the monster and my 749, loved the quality and storage container. but the corbin looks a little lower which will be good for my ergos. am 5-6, 155lbs so it's quite a reach to the bars.

plenty of good reading on this site, most of my questions have been answered already. 1 year-old Ducati red belts are tensioned "old school", with 7mm clearance vert and 5mm clearance horizontal. am reading this may be considered loose per the new(ish) harmonic method. hope to stop in at BCM next month and ask what shade-tree mechanics usually do. i miss that place.

pics soon and thanks again. later,
bobp
