I'll bet the characterization of Canadian free speech is more paranoid conservative whining (a la Rush Limbaugh) but lets just assume it's true.
In the U.S. we've got a system that says corporate donations to politicians is protected free speech. It's so obviously legalized bribery. So I wouldn't be casting stones about who is corrupt or deficient. We've got our own problems.
