Umm, Ducati currently manufacturers the closest bike to the actual race bike, then any other manufacturer. They did it with the CBR1000RR vs 1098R and the CBR was slightly faster, but then again, it was modded to the hilt, where the 1098R was bone stock. Mod the stink out of both the R1 and the 1098R, I think your "opinion" would change. Have you even tracked a modern Ducati thats setup properly, not just sat on one in a dealer, or did a test ride?

Talking about riding on the street is totally pointless, the Ducati was never designed to be a street bike.
