Granted this model has a reputation for breaking on impact makes no difference to me as long as I keep it on two wheels upright. I have owned alot of GSXR's and this one has been the best of the lot hands down. When they started fiddling with the electronics and adding O2 sensors and catalytic converters I lost interest in a new sportbike. So what if my '06 weighs 370+/- lbs. all that goes away when you twist the throttle.

This is the mentality that sells new bikes and leads to manufacturers building components that will survive just out of warranty and fail in one crash.
Your '06 GSXR is far from even "somewhat" outdated. All the new literbikes, since about 2004, have so much capability above the skills of anyone other than a championship-level pro. Your bike is so fast, brakes so well, and its handling so sublime that you will never find the limit on the street. It would take that special 99.5% percentile rider to really even approach it on the track for an entire session.
I am by no means that 99% rider, I'm so out of practice I'm probably not even a 50% rider anymore. I buy what I want because I think it is neat or have always wanted one. I'll never line up at the dealer for the fastest thing, because in a few months there will be one faster anyway.
You may be different of course...
