As long as its centered left to right it will be fine. I would put it twards the front and have the front tire resting against the front and then rachet it down all around. When I transport mine I use 4 rachets or more. DONT use the cheap "rachets" that have clamps use actual rachets with gears. I used el-cheapo's before and the bike ended up on its side...thank goodness my trailer had sides!
