Marky, he's been 'facing' the GOAT for the past 2.5 yrs and one other GP champion......how much more adversity is required?
Who did the GOAT face while in the big leagues, any champions? (and dont bother with KRJR)
Some of you guys are amusing to read on here, if this place has proven anything it's that some of you want your own lil make believe world to be reality. I enjoy throwing different pov's your way just to shake things up a lil, especially when its a similiar comparison of another racer with the current idol here (Rossi).
And some of you will make shit up to prove a point no matter how wrong it is, that cracks me up.
If you think Im making the sh!t up Ill even go as far to share a few off the top of my head:
- "Stoner is only winning cuz he's on the 'best bike'."
Nevermind the exact same thing can be said about Rossi in '00-'03. Nahhh we cant have that.
- "If Stoner didnt have the best equipment (ie..TC, tires) he wouldnt be sh!t, wait til Marco gets there to prove our point."
Well, two points to be had here....1) we're STILL waiting on Marco to prove yalls point and 2) the same can be said about Rossi's HRC yrs in the GP, as mentioned, when half the field were still on 2smokers. No degradation of his championship on that one.
- "You cant possibly compare Stoner's accomplishments to Rossi's."
Cant argue with that, to date there is no comparison, however, what some ppl here, myself included, are saying is this.......putting aside the lower classes, and their age difference, they both share a very similiar careers in the GP.
They were BOTH fallers in their first season with the exception being Rossi was on a much better team/factory support/equipment vs Stoner on a satellite team. And they BOTH became champions in there second yr!
It doesnt get any more similiar than that folks......is Stoner a GOAT?
No and only a fool will say he is or suggest others have said it here BUT he is on an impressive role and similiar path as the current GOAT was in on his 3rd GP season. I dont understand on how anyone can argue with that.
