You'll find that the maximum preload on the front springs still gives excessive sag. I think they do that to make the bike less wheelie-prone for inexperienced riders. You can put a spacer in to bring the sag number in to spec, but the real problem is a prgressive spring rate which is overly soft in the initial portion of travel, then gets progressively stiffer. Constant rate springs help a lot.
