I mean i've seen it happen hundreds of times on 1000rr.net with guys goin from fake carbon windscreens, and chicken strips enough to feed a small army to doin 10 trackdays a year and their bike is a full on track bike simply due to input by more experienced riders and guys who are genuinely enthusiastic and give them good feedback. anyways just my .02.
