I don't know what model shock you have, but on both my fox and penske, there is a lock nut on the threaded clevis at the bottom of the shock, below the rebound adjuster, which if you loosen, will allow you to raise or lower the shock height...provided your model shock has ride height adjustability?
don't know about the battery...ytx-7 maybe?
