You know I thought the same thing until I was in the dealers shop when they got the demo bike and installed the 2-1 side exhaust. When the tech it the switch and it came to life I got a hard-on (I don't get out much). When looking at it from the rear I think the side mount looks better then the underseat exhaust. The slip on is a 1-2 and it takes up a lot of space under the seat.
