MIne . . .
I bought a back-up stock cover so I could keep an original just in case. I then took a dremel to the top and copied the DP, but left a small lip in the front to help keep rain, etc, whatever little it helps keep out of my engine. I was gonig back and forth on whether or not to actually put the K&N filter on or keep the stock again because I'm afraid the K&N will let grit through and into my engine.
Then I figured, who knows how amny bikes are out there with the K&Ns? I must me kidding myself to worry about it and I'm going with the K&N. Either way, cut the top and let some ait into that baby.
