Alright Pete, show us the cars you built.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I don't proclaim to designing cars as my job, I'm an IT Consultant. That was my point, not trying to say I am better than him or anything.

BUT I have built this club racer. Yes it is based on a kit, but I bought a half finished frame and redesigned/built most of the frame. I then installed a fully stressed (meaning it was part of the chassis) Alfa Sud engine where the only components remaining Alfa Romeo were block, heads, crank and rods ... the would be others, but we even made our own bellhousing. We made cams, redesigned the camshaft housing area, etc. Major $$'s but we got 200 hp out of a 1600cc 2 valve motor.

BUT Alfa Romeo still did most of the designing didn't they ... we just modified.

We fitted a Ford close ratio gearbox ... again I did not design it.

We fitted a Ford beam rear axle ... with a gear type limited slip diff. Again I did not design. I just designed the axle location and suspension links ... but also just spec'ed off the shelf shock absorbers.

I also did not design the wheels ... but I did choose the style and had them made for me.

Thus if you want to get into an argument about who designed more of a car, me or this guy ... well I think I win. Plus my car was not built for looks but instead to win on the track, which it did and I won a club series with it.

Here are some photos of the engine installation: http://alfabb.com/bb/forums/sh...unt=8

Here is a thread where I am helping out fellow Alfa enthusiasts regarding modifications we made to the Sud engine: http://alfabb.com/bb/forums/showthread.php?t=6483

Again my point was be proud and honest about what you do don't talk BS.

Again I'm an IT Consultant with a mechanical design background, and I modified and put together a space frame club racer ... I did NOT design the whole car and go on a forum and tell the world I am a car designer ... like Pininfarina or something. <FONT COLOR="red">This guy does great work ... why not just call himself a car modifier?</FONT>

Pete
