because the power quoted for '05 is measured at the crank while the power for '04 is measured at the rear wheel. so there's no change in the bike. just in how they quote the data. this is how the big 4 quote their bikes' info so ducati went the same way. from what i understand, they did the same with the weight. quoting dry weight instead of wet-no-gas.
