Oh great. I was just getting ready to start shopping for one of these. You're right. Everyone rants and raves about CC's. I looked at the Heli web site because they actually have photo's of their bars mounted on my bike. (hint hint there CC) They also give factual measurements in what the bars accomplish. I wish CC would do that for theirs. Just by looking at the photo's, it really looks like the Heli's would be a piece of cake to put on and would not interfere with any body work. Very appealing because even the posts I have read praising the CC's, those people still said they were a ROYAL PITA to get them on, and then the whole no adjustability thing.
My whole thing is the SS is my wifes now and I want to do sometihing to make it more comfortable for her. She loves the bike but the bars are a bit of a reach. I like the fact that Heli advertises how far up and back the bars are.
My only problem with Heli is the price. Especially when you compare it to the CC's and the product you are getting. The CC's are beautiful, billet pieces and not much more than the Heli's. I wish some used Heli's would pop up for sale for me to try out, or if it was possible to get specs on the CC's.
Heard good things about the Eastern cycles bars to but they wont work on a 800. The bar itself doesn't come out of the clip on portion. I take it there twista you have a late model 1000?? Do you still have your Heli's and want to get rid of them.
