I have had one on my '96 900 SS/CR for about 6 months now. Would buy another one in a heartbeat, no downfalls. The base actually locks on the bike for security and easily removed for gassing up. When you call you will actually talk with the owner/designer and the workmanship is first rate. If you ever want to take off the ring it takes about 5 minutes to switch out.
