Default Re: (Ageispolis)

You only use it to give your hand a break. I only use mine on freeway long hauls....It is not intended to be done for alot of time, just long enough to relax the hand and wrist some.

Your fast idle is nothing more than a "mini throttle". It hold the throttle plates open to a specific place to allow the bike to warm up without flooding it if you use the throttle only. It is not a choke. Often it is referred to as an enrichner. If you follow the cable off of it you'll see it connect to the throttle butterfly and opens it slightly when you pull it down. Same on the Aprilia's.

There is alot of slack in the line, adjust the slack out some and you can use it as a cruise control. I like it better than a Throttlemeister type device because it is on the opposite handlebar and is operated by just your thumb. The throttlemeister can be a drag to set and release sometimes compared to using the fast idle control as you have to use your whole right hand to set it and muck with it some to get it where you want it. I have also seen problems with Throttlemeisters when not set up correctly.

By using the fast idle control, it is seemless and you don't have that drop in speed while to set and/or release the throttlemeister. Simply hold the gas, engage the fast idle to the same speed with your left hand and go. The to release, grab the throttle and use your left thimb to turn off the fast idle control...
