Mathesis, or alternative?
As you all know these new Ducati's are very sophisticated and require different tools to work on them. The Mathesis is the main "do everything type tool".
Are these available to buy? If so, where and what kind of price would you be looking at?
If not what kind of alternatives can be used. I am dealing with a 06 800SSie. When it comes to timing belt tensions, fuel injection, tps, trimmers, and other things these bikes need I think one of these testers would be handy to own.
Is there any clubs around that you can join that may have one of these for members to use (similar to the vintage BMW club that has a program for members to use special tools)?
With technology the way it is, working on your own bikes is getting harder and harder not to mention more expensive. I would prefer to trust my own experience over some dealer that has tech's just looking for a paycheck and not having the compassion for the motorcycle.
Nothing satisfies me more than working on my own stuff knowing it is done right. If I break something atleast "I did it" and not someone else. You learn from your mistakes. Life is a "life long" learning experience.
I also see in the manual there are many different "loctite" variations (grades) and greases. Are these readily available and where?
Thanks for any input and thoughts on this.
