Bill, I asked a similar question regarding the utility of the collets and was told much the same you've been told here; on the 2v bikes, the valve stay in spec anywhere from 12 to 18000 miles if you're not racing, bouncing the bike off the rev-limiter and riding sensibly. On a street bike , especially on a 2v, the collets don't offer a reasonable gain.
