When I "Air-Coned" my second set of pipes I did it differently. The only part of the original baffle that was left was the solid metal lengthwise band that has the two threaded inserts for mounting, and both ends. I cut two other lengths of steel and had them welded to what was left of the inlet and exit ends of the internal baffle. I off-set these from the existing rivet holes at the end cap (once the cans are open, you'll see why). I "hogged" out the diameter of the exit end of the existing baffle assembly to the OD of the Air Cone "perf tube" under the end plate. That way, the Air Cone" baffle can be removed and re-installed by just drilling the rivets and removing the end cap. It's difficult to describe, but pretty simple when you see it. The external rivet "mod" never appealled to me too much, that's why I did it this way.
