Interesting response Rick. I took mine apart over the winter and found it to be exactly as you describe (40K miles here folks). Also, not sure if it was mentioned, but are your battery connections snug and clean? I mean real clean, no corrosion at all. I had similar problems and that's all it was, a loose f'n connection.
