Yea, its weird. I reproduced the problem last night, and its difficult to really determine.. I'm still leaning to a solinoid, but the noise is coming up front where all the wiring is.
Turn the key, thumb the starter. I hear a "click" (solenoid) and then I hear what sounds like a high pitched buzzing noise (higher and louder than the fuel pump) and the lights/dash go out. Its just weird. I'm not hugely worried about it, simply because I could always pop start it if I get stranded. But its an electrical issue I've never seen before. Usually in my experiance with the older Duc's, if there is a electrical problem, its either the Reg/Rec, Solinoid, Battery, or a fuse. Never seen anything like this.
Something tells me that the wiring diagram, a voltmeter, and I are going to get REAL intimate. Again.
