the bigger the gaps, the louder it'll get. but if it's not slipping, there's no reason to swap it unless you want to upgrade to lighter parts. even if the tangs get mushroomed a bit, you can pull the clutch pack, file the tangs down a bit, give the friction plates a light sanding, and keep on pluggin.
