I bought a set of rims from a S4 to put on my 2002 SS and the hub was a 1/4" too wide. I tried swaping the bearing and a whole mess of other stuff to get that guy to fit. I finally popped the bearings out of my stock wheel and measured them through the axle. Sure enough they were of by a 1/4". Even the bearings were a different width. </TD></TR></TABLE>
I went through the exact same thing.
From what I've been able to figure out, there are two combinations of parts:
1) Steel swingarm / 3-spoke wheel / 17mm axle / narrower hub width
OR
2) Aluminum swingarm / 5-spoke wheel / 25mm axle / wider (by 1/4") hub width
Now, has anyone out there seen a different mix of these components on a Supersport? For instance, an aluminum swingarm with the 17mm axle? Or a 3-spoke wheel with a 25mm axle?
cakake, what kind of wheel and swingarm do you have on your bike?
