the ss ie has a steeper steering head angle. the swingarm tho is the same i'm pretty sure. they used the same part when they released the '99 and the 800 still uses the basic alloy arm. well, the '03. who kows what it has now, probably the same old steel ones as the old 600ss. and the new style arm is available from dp as a fitment ot all.

as a generalisation, every inch you raise the rear will change the steerin head angle by about 1 degee. altho the trail may be what really makes the change in steering.
