Reason I used the GSXR axle is that the GSXR axle has a threaded/flanged sleeve that goes on the left side instead of the nut like a Duc axle. To use the Duc axle you'd have to make a sleeve to fit the 25mm axle in the 30-32mm hole (can't remember exact dimension) in the fork bottom. And then I don't think the flange on the Duc axle nut is a large enough diameter to tighten the assembly down.

good info to have, thanks.

the monster's got 999 legs on it which i'm more than happy with. the SS has the adjustable showas on it which i'd be happy with if they were both in good shape. the right's got a dent in the stanction tube RIGHT where the seal's pressed in. it's holding up fine right now with no leaks but i'm sure that won't last. i'd REALLY like to just find an adjustable showa off an SS with a bent leg or mashed bottom to swap the stanction tube off of but the GX'R fork swap may be a fair option. what's killing me is that i only really need a setup to work for a few month. i'll be tearing the SS down around june or so for my next project and neither of the fork options will make much sense for what i'll be doing.
