Well I always strap the front down with a CycleCynch (used to use a Canyon Dancer harness, but it totally blows compared to the CycleCynch) & then I loop soft ties either around the foot pegs or through the holes in the rearsets (whichever is applicable) & pull forward again on them that way if the handlebar strap(s) were to come undone for any reason the bike is still be pulled forward & usually will not move much.

Everytime I see a bike strapped down so that it pulls forward on the handlebars & backwards on the rear of the bike I always cringe cause I have seen a bike like that come loose from the front & with the straps pulling backwards on the rear of the bike it just launches it...
