The new design 2 piece that I Got is essentially like the old one with the circlip groove part cut off - back to the steel bush and then a tapered alloy piece to sit on top. If I had known this and could have bought only the tapered part I would have the old one machined down and saved some cash.

If the small tapered part is available separately then just get that it would be a quick & easy job to machine the old style carrier to the same spec as the new, actually it wouldn't be hard to machine a tapered piece if you've access to a lathe, the right material and the measurements - certainly I have a local engineer who could make one for less than Ducati would sell it for.

Pics show the 2 pieces separately which if you compare to the old style you can see how simple this mod would be - it is identical in every other respect;
