I read this elsewhere, but, I notice that with the stock setup, my forearms already will touch the mirrors at low speed/full lock.. Maybe it has to do with how tall a person is. I have a riding buddy with the HeliBars on his '05 800SS, and he loves them, when he rode my SS he said he could really tell the difference in the way the bars felt..
