2002 900SS problem
The bike is a 2002 900SS with 2600 miles on the clock. It has DP exhaust and chip, but I don't think it's related to this.
So this is the situation: The bike starts and runs beautifully when cold. When the bike reaches normal operating temperatures it starts to act up. At first it will act like the bike is being switched off for a second, and then back on. This will last for about 30 seconds, at which point the bike will go completely dead, and I will be stuck by the side of the road for 20-30 minutes while the bike cools. After that it starts up and will repeat what just happened after about 5 minutes.
Whe the bike starts acting up it is a very violent thing, and it is literally like the key is being switched off and on.
When the bike is dead there is no spark at either plug.
Since there are 2 coils, I doubt they would both fail at the same time. What come before the coils in the ignition chain?
Any ideas?
