It is a long story and somewhat confusing, but I am associated with Cycle Tech. CT is owned by all-around good guy Rick McWaters. During my early racing days CT was my sponsor, then when I left another profession and decided to wrench full time, I came on board at CT as a hired gun of sorts in the service dept, working there as needed but also building/tuning V-twin sportbikes as Meccanica Corse. I still handle some of CT's service work but I have been concentrating more and more on expanding my business lately, with a new building in the plans and all that. Rick is a good guy and if you want to buy your parts thru him that's fine, but if you want my tech advice on tuning, installing products, etc, it doesn't flow freely unless you buy thru my company. It just came to a point where I was on the phone several hours a day giving advice and it was costing me $$ out of my pocket, literally, because I wasn't making money on the sale. So I've been "restructuring" a bit, which has been a too-long process due to some real estate hassles, but I'm working on it.
Hope that made sense, and didn't come across as negative towards CT. My goals are different that CT's, that's all it amounts to. If there's anything I can do for you Hawk guys here, all you have to do is ask.
J.D.
