The fact that you constantly keep referring to the coolant system makes me realize I must have gotten it all mixed up, Jason.

As far as I understand it's got nothing to do with the coolant system. I'm on thin ice now but I believe the 748RS had a little carbon fibre tank mounted underneath the petrol tank. I also think the petrol tank was non-vented and that the carbon fibre tank collected any petrol spill from the main tank caused by increased pressure etc.

I also seem to remember something about a one way valve placed somewhere along the fuel line between the main petrol tank and the little carbon fibre reservoir but as I said I may be wrong about all this...
