Personaly I think the comfort issue does not lie in raising the bars but the seat to bar positioning, if you sit anywere near streight up your arms tend to lock, however if you tuck a little your arms have that little kink in them that relieves stress then however you start to get a little un comfortable in the back, I have Heli's and if you adjust them lock to lock then they are way out there (if you have gorilla arms this may help) if you adjust them in to be "comfy" then they are to close to bashing the tank everytime you are in a tight spot, so you have to make some compromises with them so you can have slow speed ability, still after about 75 to 100 miles you start to get uncomfy, someone on this board installed Convertabars and relocated the resivor over so as not to bash the fairing when turning in tight slow speeds, now it seems to me if you could dish the seat that this would shorten the reach to the bars however I could be wrong, do a search the guy who installed the Convertabars posted pics of the install
